CFD Study of turbine exhaust gases


The purpose of this study was to conduct a CFD analysis of a conductor installation using the CFD++ finite volume software, focusing on the analysis of the connection up to the burners of a conduit in order to study the distribution, velocity and recirculation of the circulating flow.


It has been considered that the incoming flow is gas coming from a turbine in a conduit without deflectors.


The flow distribution was obtained (velocity and direction) across the full domain of the fluid.


On studying the flow across the full domain, zones of recirculation were observed in the conduit and several deflectors were installed in order to avoid said recirculation, which were also subject to a CFD simulation in order to verify the optimal location for their installation and their shape.
